Plant Technical Summary

The cogeneration facility includes the following major equipment:

Two Siemens Westinghouse W501D5A gas turbine generator sets equipped with water injection for nitrogen oxides control and wet compression for power augmentation

Two DOOSAN single pressure supplementary fired heat recovery steam generators (HRSG).

Two unit step-up transformers and associated switchgear to connect to the 230,000-volt Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) ring bus

Two water treatment trains for de-mineralized water

Power export is by cables at 230,000 volts to the existing SADAF GIS substation located next to the site. The plant is fully embedded within the SADAF electrical system and has no direct connection to the external electricity transmission and distribution system.

Steam is exported to SADAF’s existing steam header system at 47 barg and 400 ºC.
